Formerly pro-choice, previously pro-mandated health insurance, once-upon-a-time pro-stem cell research, initially pro-TARP, used-to-be pro-carbon emission limits, no longer pro-gun control, in a previous life pro-capital gains tax, and ultimately reversing his endorsement of immigration reform, Mitt Romney is running ever harder in a race to the intellectual credibility bottom with...uh...one can only assume Herself, former half-term Governor Palin (which appears to be the price of any hope for GOP presidential primary success in '12.)
His latest study in pandering to the brain-dead is a Palin-worthy op-ed on the tax compromise. (In fairness to the dazzlingly dim and/or shockingly shallow ex-Governor Mitt, let it also be noted that as half-term Governer, the "socialist-baiting" hypocrite Ms. Palin presided over perhaps the most quintessentially socialist program in US history - full public ownership of oil fields, with profits from their exploitation distributed on an equal basis to each and every resident of the state, amounting to thousands of dollars of "free money" to every individual regardless of productivity - or even need - every year. So there's more than enough hypocrisy and analytic incompetence being generated to lubricate the noxious, infantile bloviations of GOP candidates through the next election cycle. )
