"I never truckled; I never took off the hat to Fashion and held it out for pennies. By God, I told them the truth. They liked it or they didn't like it. What had that to do with me? I told them the truth; I knew it for the truth then, and I know it for the truth now." Frank Norris.
"Alaska Republican Senate nominee Joe Miller was asked about illegal immigration at his town hall yesterday, and he said that the country's first priority should be to secure the border. 'If East Germany could, we could,' he said."
Be careful dude. Demanding questioning provokes Joe Miller's Stasi side. Apparently arrests occur. This is probably just a function of the Tea Baggers assuming that once they nix the 17th Amendment, Senators can proceed on as the little dictators they strive to be. Ol' Joe is just an impassioned GOPer slightly ahead of the curve.

So Joe Miller cites this example of EGermany to keep people already in the USA from sneaking out?
To where, Canada?
Otherwise what is the news here? Even Obama says it is important to secure the borders.
Would the literalists contend that Miller intends to support a shoot-to-kill policy?
Just more shrill electioneering in the hopes you'll get off your cottage cheese butt and mail in a ballot marked "D".
Guns will remain holstered after that.

1) Miller is not a student of history (geography?), so he probably didn't even realize the obvious humor in his comment.
2) He very well may want a shoot to kill policy. Look how he treated that journalist.
3) Getting off our low-fat yogurt butts has real consequences. No one expects the DNC to forsake their corporate sponsors, but there is an actual difference in people's lives when good legislation passes. HCR, as watered down as it was, will help my cousin. That is real. And to the extent that more of us do get involved, it will push the Dems to the left if they see a self-interest in going there.

Actually, this post was an advertisement for MSNBC...which is also known by the acronym DNC.
Everything is always everything...or nothing.
After November 2nd I intend to post nothing but cottage cheese recipes.

That sounds good. I do a three way wheat/oat/buckwheat split. The low gluten makes them fluffier.
