2."The Parent Company Trap" (VIDEO)    (A follow-up that makes one wonder whether Stewart's writers have infiltrated Murdoch's Empire and are generating the satire from within.)

In successive nights, The Daily Show produced no doubt the most devastating take-down of the absurdity, dishonesty and perfidy of the clown show known as "FOX News" ever mounted - implicating several prominent Bush administration PR flaks to boot.  Kudos to America's Most Trusted Newsman, Jon Stewart.

It is the "Daily SHOW"? "America's Most Trusted Newsman" is a standup comic?

Step back and taste the words for a moment. Does anything here suggest that politics, national policy or the like, is being reduced to entertainment?
Has the parody of the most trusted news replaced the reality of the news itself?

In another sense hasn't this just devolved to tribal affiliation? The policies really don't matter...win a war, lose a war, so what?...citizenship is being part of an audience..and if you are enjoying what you see then you have "no doubt" obviously switched on the correct channel.

I'll sleep better tonite knowing that Randy Paul's admonishment was unwarranted....

and sometimes.. in those black & white films from Italy... when we see a steam locomotive entering a tunnel we can know that the filmakers intent was simply to show a train and a tunnel as a trope to breakup a kiss.
