I was skeptical that Hugo Chavez had actually accused the US of causing the earthquake in Haiti, not because he isn't capable of saying something wacky, but because all signs pointed to one unverifiable source, the Spanish newspaper ABC.
I was also skeptical, however, as there was no denial apparently from the Chavez camp. That denial has been sent to Dan Drezner.
Absent any actual evidence to the contrary, I see no reason to doubt the denial.
Thanks. That story looked awful fishy.

Wow, you don't jump on the bash Chavez bandwagon.
You really are a noble soul.
But how many times have you been inclined, by dint of capitalist brainwashing, to promot stories, out of context, that work to impune and malign people that stand up to the imperialism of your country?
Only you can answer that--to yourself, in candid, honest moments of reflection.
I know how the US liberal mind works.

Randy deserves a little credit for seeing through this story, Slave. You should give him that much.

You really are missing out on your esoteric reading. Why wouldn't Chavez comment on the likes of this ?
