The National Security Archives at George Washington University has released the transcripts of telephone conversations obtained through the Freedom of Information Act of Henry Kissinger talking up the possibility of the overthrow of a democratically elected president of Chile, Salvador Allende. When the Secretary of State at the time expresses the desire to “see what we can work out [with Allende]," Nixon orders Kissinger to prevent that from happening.
Remember all this the next time you see the mainstream media bring Kissinger in to speak authoritatively about foreign relations.
