Yesterday afternoon, I was watching CNN International and they open with their half hour news show with a report by Jennifer Eccleston on Sunday's elections in Turkey. It was comprehensive, covering such issues as Kurdish separatists and the PKK as well as a brief synopsis of Turkey's recent elections and a discussion of the leading political parties.
It went on for eight minutes. Eight minutes out of a thirty minute show. The domestic version of CNN had a mention of the election and I wasn't able to see much more than that. One wonders why the editors of the domestic version think that we're idiots.
I'm surprised that CNN/U.S. mentioned Turkish elections at all; I'm sure it cut into their Paris Hilton, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie time....

Well, they're following the procedure of the international editions of "Time", so no much of a surprise for me, then.
Out of curiosity, what usually fits in the "international news" section in the CNN U.S. ? Here we only get CNN International and CNN En Español.
