In a shocking move that could only be characterized as brazen, the criminal gang known as the PCC kidnapped a reporter for Globo, Brazil's leading television network, and his assistant and had them report on prison conditions in Brazil and allow them to air their grievances about prison conditions in Brazil.
While their complaints about prison conditions in Brazil are probably right and largely backed up by reports from groups such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, this latest action is a disturbing development and one wonders what the fallout will be in terms of a public fed up with their everyday lives disrupted by violence, political ramifications in an election year and perhaps most critical, the reaction of prison officials.
Personally, I expect things to get worse before they get better.
Things are looking uglier every morning, Paul. Especially because the elections are on their way and - guess what - our president hasn't said a single word that is on the PCC attacks.
If the joke is true and God is Brazilian, then may the Lord have mercy on His fellow countrymen and women!
