I haven't written much about our recent trip to Portugal, but plan to drop a few notes about it in the meantime.
I was impressed by the cleanliness and general environmental consciousness I witnessed. Here's a fine example. This first photo is the Quisque de Refresco in the Praça Luis Camões in Lisbon. It's the oldest refreshment stand in the city:
Here's the cup containing my tasty and thirst quenching horchata that I purchased there:
It says "This is not an ordinary cup [note the historically traditional use of the word "vulgar"]. It's made of cornstarch, so that when composted, it will disappear in 180 days. Put it in organic trash."
Nice! More like this, please.
We use similar for our beer festivals and outside events. When they are dry and empty you have to keep them out of direct sunlight or they decompose rather faster than you might wish!
