It was a year ago today that I forsake my good sense and thought that people might like to read my random bloviations. My first post outside the introductory post was on Argentina and I have really wanted to encourage people in the US to take a greater interest in Latin America. These nations are our nearest neighbors, we do more trade with them than any other part of the world, yet so few of us know much about Latin America.
I have since moved from my old Blogpsot blog to Typepad and have found the change to be very liberating, although I appreciate what I learned with Blogger.
If I have motivated any of you to take a greater interest in issues facing Latin America and t think seriously and critically about human rights issues, I am honored. I hope you'll keep reading, keep commenting and keep thinking. Thanks, you all make it worthwhile.

Congratulations! :-)

Randy, Thanks so much for your postings this last year. I became a regular reader sometime in February and I've appreciated your lucid commentary on human rights issues, latin american politics, and brazilian culture.
cheers and felices fiestas,
thomas

Where else could I possibly turn for such amazing coverage of events in Latin America? Thank you.
Happy Holidays!
